FABERGE PINE CONE ELEPHANT EGG #175: A Limoges porcelain Egg hand painted in relief to reproduce the appearance of the original Kelkh Pine Cone Egg made for Varvara Bazenov Kelkh by The House of Faberge, in 1900. Open, it displays an elephant paved in crystals with its trunk raised. The elephant and plinth on which it rests are plated in 24 karat gold and the interior of the egg is painted in gold. The clasp is the Romanov double headed eagle. The plinth carries the name Faberge, impressed, and the number of the Egg. Invoice dated 1/13/14 shows original purchase price of $395.
