1183 Click for larger picture APPROX 20-35 YR OLD SINO-FRENCH AUBUSSON HAND WOVEN NEEDLEPOINT RUG, 10'8'' x 15'11'': This large rug has a classical French design with a very pastel palette. The round central medallion has an inner circle of green leaves and an outer circle of leaves and clusters of grapes. The open ivory field is surrounded by octagonal shaped bands or borders. One border has an overall floral motif, and another has long flowering tree branches that alternate with oval panels with vases or other items showcased in the center. The triangular corners that have a crest or shield like design make the octangular rug back into a rectangle. Good condition. 550
