MAKK, Eva, (Ethiopian, 1933-): ''Parisian Awnings'', Oil/Canvas, depicting a busy street side Parisian cafe, quaint architecture and familiar striped awnings. Signed lower left, signed and titled verso, 30'' x 24'', framed 38.50'' x 32.50''. Purchased for $6,800 in 1983. Appraised for $22,000.00 in 1990. After graduating from the Academy of Fine Art in Paris, Eva moved to Italy to continue her formal art studies at the Academy of Fine Art in Rome. It was there that she met her future husband, fellow artist Americo Makk. The couple moved to Brazil in 1949. Eva and Americo Makk received appointments as Professors of Art at Sao Paulo Academy of Fine Art and later were named Official Artists of the Brazilian Government. Today the Makk Family is known as ''The First Family of Art''. Sold with COA.
