PAIR OF CHINESE OPPOSING FOO DOG LAMPS: 2 early 20th- late 19th C. Chinese opposing porcelain white ground vases having hand painted Iron red male & female Foo Dogs. Both have poems in Kanji at the verso. One has a signature at the observe near the top. Each has a different shade. Both are mounted on wooden bases with gold toned metal tops. Approx. 27'' h x 17'' w. From the collection of the daughter of former Governor Spessard L Holland (WWII era), then US Senator for 24 years, retiring from the US Senate in 1971.
CONDITION: Minimal soiling to shades consistent with age and use.
