Fannie, along with her sister helped her father (Nampeyo) by painting his pots. She has become a recognized artist in her own right. The consignor had information that this piece may have been found at the Antler site in 1990. It is typical of the Salado pottery found in the Tonto Basin and Pleasant Valley. Julian was her husband who died in 1943. It is estimated this pit was made around 1935; 3) Santa Clara black on black plate signed Maria & Santana. Maria worked with her daughter-in-law Santana after 1943 when her husband Julian passed until approx. 1956. Also sold with a book entitled ''Maria'' by Richard L. Spivey.
