4 PANEL PAINTED AND CARVED COROMANDEL SCREEN: Pair of Very Fine Two-leaf Coromandel Screens. Qing Dynasty, Chien Lung Period (1736-1795). One side is brilliantly carved & painted with a continuous festive court scene in the pavilions & gardens of a large villa. Dignitaries & court figures engaged in various activities, with gardens, trees, and mountains in the distance. The scene is continued on the verso. Upper borders are pierced with a horizontal open panel, and decorated with Dragons amongst a floral, cloud, & vine motif. Each panel measures approx. 83.25'' h x 23'' w.
CONDITION: Prior restoration with spots of loss at lacquer.
