
CARVED MAHOGANY CHIPPENDALE STYLE COFFEE TABLE: Earlier 20th C. Ball and claw foot with gadroon edging along the top. Carved knees, shaped skirt. 20''h. x 35'' x 22''. Hand made by master wood carver Alfred Roebelt. Roebelt's father was a master carver in Thuringa, (now a part of East Germany), then a world renown center for fine furniture crafting. Roebelt passed his masterpiece exam at the age of 17. Coming to America in 1930 he worked for H. Sack & Company in Massachusetts until retirement in 1971. Provenance: Roebelt Estate
