
SENAT, Prosper Louis, (American, 1852-1925): ''Venice'', Venetian Canal Scene, W/C, sight size 27 1/2'' x 19 1/2'', encased in original gilded molding with gold mat, 39 1/2'' x 31'' overall, signed lower left, dated 02. Condition - Several minor spots of foxing. Senat studied at Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and South Kensington School in London. He spent several years in Europe as well as painting on the coast of Maine. Primarily associated with the East Coast, he was a resident of Pasadena from 1905 to 1910.
