BLAKE, Charles, (American, 1866-): ''Edgar Allen Poe's Fordham Cottage'', Watercolor, 14 1/4'' x 17 3/4'', signed lower right, vignette of Poe's Carmine Street home in New York City, carved and gilded frame with gold overpaint, 21'' x 25''. Blake was known for depicting ''scenes, events, and landmarks that helped shape the lower Pinellas Peninsula''. His works were on display at the 1934 Chicago World's Fair, and it is also noted that he studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. This historically important piece of history will be sold with several local newspaper clippings which document Blake's accomplishments and accolades.
