SEMI-ANTIQUE PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 5' 2'' x 10' 2'': This unusual sized Sarouk is a gallery or corridor shape that in the old days would have been used in an oversized hallway that also served as the family ''gallery'' of portraits of ancestors. Today, this shape is great for defining a sitting area in a larger room. This is a beautiful, ''meaty'' Sarouk with a lively interpretation of the flower sprays, but with a slightly more open field. The red ground and the others colors are clear and the design is well drawn.
CONDITION: The ends have been machine bound and one corner has some loss, but otherwise good.
