CIRCA 1920'S-1930'S CHINESE NICHOLS HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 10' 10'' x 16' 6'': This palace size rug has a mostly ''fall'' color palette with a rich brown border that is followed by an inner broken border with a swirly design of clouds and leaves in colors of beige, yellow, turquoise, and peach. The leaves of the border flow into the edges of the field and the center of the field has a very pale design of beige and pale turquoise leaves on a cream ground. This rug has elements of the Deco era in which it was created as well as more traditional formal Chinese motifs.
CONDITION: There is some shading of the wool but it doesn't really detract from the look of the rug.
