ANTIQUE TURKOMAN TEKKE BOKHARA HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 3'10'' X 2'2'': This antique tribal piece is actually a bag face. The complete bags were used not only to transport things but also were used in the Yurts (homes) of these people to store all sorts of things from bedding to food stuffs. The field of this bag has a purple brown color on which are found two patterns of ''guls'' done in colors of red, white, and blue. There are two minor borders with a ''running dog'' pattern also in red and blue. The larger apron at one end of the bag has blue and red arrow like motifs scattered over the surface.
CONDITION: There is visible wear but this is still an interesting piece.
