
CIRCA 1930'S NATIVE AMERICAN NAVAJO HAND WOVEN WOOL RUG, 60'' x 38'': This Navajo has the colors grey, black, and white predominantly used in Two Grey Hills rugs but the addition of red and orange point to neighboring Crystal area of weaving. The rugs central motifs are two diamonds within diamonds. There is a smaller brown and red stepped diamond surrounded by a black and white small narrow diamonds that form a larger diamond. This is surrounded by a stepped block motif to form the outer diamond of the field. There are red and brown saw tooth borders on the sides and red and brown straight borders on the ends of the rug. The orange color appears in smaller zig zag motifs that may represent lightning.
CONDITION: This rug has some light soiling and the wool has ''fuzzed'' from one color over another.
