APPROX. 20-35YR. OLD INDO PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 8' x 10': This rug has an interesting juxtaposition of geometric and curvilinear design motifs. The striking red field has a large round white ground central medallion and two half round outlines of medallions, one on either end of the field. The central medallion has design motifs of pastel flowers, leaves, and palmettes, while the two half medallions have more geometric diamond shaped palmettes with angular vines and leaves. The rest of the field has some complete plants, birds, and geometric designs done in pastel colors. The white ground border helps to frame the field and make the velvety looking red center look very rich and inviting.
CONDITION: There appear to be some slight stains or soiling on the border of the rug.
