HAND KNOTTED WOOL, 20-30 YRS OLD, SINO-PERSIAN AUBUSSON DESIGN RUG, 5' 10'' x 8' 11'': This rug has an attractive Aubusson pattern that was woven in China using Persian knots. The black background of the central field has a large white ground oval medallion that has four smaller white medallions one on each side. These smaller medallions go from the field into the white ground border of the rug and like the main medallion are outlined with a pinkish beige ribbon like edge. In the center of each medallion are found sprays of realistically drawn roses in shades of pink and red. These same flowers are also found in the field of the rug intertwined with leafy vines in the same pinkish beige as the edges. The outer border of the rug is a solid black. Condition is good.
