SEMI-ANTIQUE PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 11' x 12' 8 1/2'': This almost square size Persian rug has many elements of design that would classify it as an Isphahan weaving. It has a beautifully drawn, balanced design of flowers and leaves in colors of pale and dark blue, peach, pale yellow, cream, red, and burgundy on a cherry red field. The flowers leaves and vines combine to form loosely drawn medallions that are placed in a very symmetrical fashion. There are three guard borders on either side of the main border, which consists of palmettes with leaves on either side. This is a very attractive rug.
CONDITION: There is a diagonal slit in one corner of the rug that has been professionally repaired. Also the ends have been bound.
