MODEL 1855 US SPRINGFIELD PISTOL CARBINE: A rare Model 1855 percussion pistol manufactured by Springfield Armory. A representative example, this particular example does exhibit some issues. Replacement butt stock has been attached by strap on back side, lockplate missing date otherwise marked correctly; date stamp on tag appears to have been altered at some point, no visible inspector cartouche, and missing rear site. Action currently works fine. Brass furniture with balance of metal with plum brown patina. 12'' .58 caliber barrel. Overall with butt stock 28'' long.
CONDITION: Typical scratches and gouges to stocks, wear to brass finish, surface rust and discoloration. Burchard Galleries does not advocate attempting to fire ANY antique firearm.
