INDO-PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 4' x 6': This rug has a striking appearance not only because of the strong contrast in colors, but also because of the placement or structure of the design. The central field has a deep blue-black ground with a row of palmettes in alternating shapes. On either side of these are large flower heads that are surrounded by large leaves that almost look like they are swirling around them. The main border of the rug's ivory ground frames the field in a dramatic fashion. Condition is good.
