ANTIQUE PERSIAN SAROUK HAND KNOTTED WOOL PALACE SIZE RUG, APPROX. 10' x 17': This very large very old Sarouk has a midnight blue filed which is uncommon in most rugs from this center of weaving. The vast majority of Sarouks have a red field. The field is covered with the typical motifs found in Sarouks, the large sprays of flowers of different types fill in the field. The large main border has the red ground usually found as the main color of the rug.
CONDITION: This rug has been recently cleaned, preserved, and mothproofed at Tinney Rugs. The rug is very worn and has been re-dyed in some areas. Also there are some holes and tears that need attention.
