NEW GUINEA CARVED WOOD WALL HOOK STAND FROM THE SEPIK AREA: Carved with an Ovoid Head with Protruding Ridged Forehead, bulging eyes with inset cut cowry shells, relief carved nose, ridged features and mouth, and an elongated stylized body with outstretched wing arms; the ''elbows'' with inset cut cowry shells, terminating in an anchor form crescent hook foot, 36 1/2'' length.
CONDITION: Has some abrasions and losses, some of the clay wash remaining.
