APPROX 75-100 YR OLD PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 8'10'' x 10'10'': This Persian city rug has a blue weft that is usually an identifier for Sarouks, but it is a finer weave than is generally found in rugs woven on the looms in that area. The rugs center has tomato red rounded diamond shaped medallion with a white center and white outline. The spandrels that extend from either end of the medallion blend in with the palmettes, flower heads and vines that surround them and cover the pretty blue field. The red and white corners of the field and the wide red main border complete this work of art.
CONDITION: The rug has been re-fringed, there are some areas of wear and there are some stains but it is still a lovely rug.
