SEMI-ANTIQUE N.W. PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL DOUBLE BAG, 1'6'' x 3'10'': This bag has seen actual use as a storage and carrying bag on a beast of burden, yet this utilitarian piece was woven with as much care as any larger rug would be. The format is that of a single medallion on each field edged by two borders and a small central pile panel between, flat weave completing the bags. The flat weave backing has been covered with leather to reinforce the bag.
CONDITION: There is a repair in the central pile panel and the leather backing is not part of the bags original construction.
