APPROX. 45-65 YR. OLD PERSIAN HERIZ HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 5' x 7'3'': This Heriz is a little bit unusual in that it has an ivory field instead of the more typical rust red, and the main design of alternating central medallions is like a design usually seen in Karajas, but the weave is Heriz like. The field also has many smaller motifs that include palmettes, stylized leaves and flowers and four small red birds found near the four corners of the field. The midnight blue main border has a pattern that is traditional to rugs from Heriz with the addition of more little birds tucked in here and there.
CONDITION: Condition is good for its age, there is a small tear on one side at the very edge of the rug that looks to be an easy repair.
