LEWIS PRAHL PHILADELPHIA EAGLEHEAD SWORD: Circa 1785-1805, a rare example of an early American swordsmith, all brass hilt with eaglehead pommel attributed to Lewis Prahl of Philadelphia. Unmarked example and several other Philadelphia makers of this period made similar style swords. Horseman's saber slightly curved blade with double fullers, 29'' long, overall 34 1/4'' long.
CONDITION: Age staining and slight peppering to blade.
