APPROX. 20-35 YR. OLD PERSIAN OR INDO-PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 5'2'' x 8'3'': This is a beautiful rug with a jewel like deep blue center ground surrounded by a white outer field. The inner blue field is covered with a design of large palmettes, flower heads, and leaves linked by a system of vines. The outer white field has a delicate tracery design interspersed with fantastically colored animals including hot pink and orange tigers and pale pink and blue gazelles! The borders also contain many depictions of birds and animals intertwined in the floral motifs. This is a very striking rug that would be a real conversation piece in any home. Condition is good.
