WOOD, Paul, (American, 1897-1964): Spaniel Portraits, Etching, signed in pencil lower right, sight size 9 1/2'' x 12 3/8'', framed, 16 5/8'' x 20 5/8''. Several spots of browning. Paul Wood studied art at both the Springfield School of Fine Arts and at the Art Students League in New York. During his career he became well known for his watercolors and etchings of animals, mostly those of various breeds of dogs. In the 1930's his etchings were published by the Paris Etching Society and exhibited in the United States and France. | 140 |
