IDENTIFIED CIVIL WAR SWORD, PHOTO, DISCHARGE GROUP: Direct from the descendants, identified to Nahum Ward 23rd Ohio. Enlisted Nov. 1863, discharged July 26, 1965. Group includes model 1840 S & K (Schnitzler & Kirschbaum) Solingen heavy wristbreaker sword and scabbard. Blade measures 34 3/4'' in length, isolated areas of age stain. Please note grip missing original wire and wrap. All brass hilt tight with nice age patina, please note isolated strips of paint transfer. 8 x 10 cabinet photo identified to Ward in uniform with inscription ''To my Mother for a Christmas Present Dec. 25th 1864.'' Please note minor stain, does not affect image. Also included is Ward's original discharge, framed in a period frame. Please note discharge has been cut down to fit frame, does not affect body of document. Also included is a CDV identified on back to a Surgeon. Name appears to be JT Webb.
