202 | MODEL 1850 STAFF AND FIELD OFFICERS SWORD, SCABBARD, AND SASH: Ornate grip with engraved pommel, US shield on cap and US in guard. Original shark / rayskin grip and wire. Import 32'' blade, most likely German, with nice clear engravings of US, eagle, military motifs and foliate scroll. Metal scabbard with extra fancy engraved mounts. Sword has original officers sash still wrapped around grip, faded to a nice rose color. We have not removed the sash from the grip. 38 3/4'' long overall. CONDITION: Minor areas of isolated peppering on blade, sash has tears and rips, but complete and intact. |
