1101 | A GRAND NAUTICAL MOTIF BAR & BAR BACK: Circa early to mid 20th century, carved Douglas Fir wood. The wet bar with padded red leather trim over a monumental shaped single slab of onyx, carved front with applied figural dolphins and other nautical motifs, brass clad base. Double sink and 2 doors inside bar. Matching back bar, top section with rope twist, shell and foliate motif. Assorted applied decorative pieces and lights affixed to back over sectioned beveled glass mirror, surmounted on either side with shaped displays, sectioned beveled glass doors. Shaped base with 6 drawers over open storage with shelves, surmounted by door on either side. Previously owned by Jack Cowan, Master Chief Petty Officer, USN and purchased by him 40 years ago in Virginia. Front bar measures approx. 44'' x 105'' x 38'', back bar 79 1/2'' x 106'' x 21 1/2''. CONDITION: Wear consistent with age and use. Front bar doors open but locks are locked in the closed position, no key. |

1150 | DYMAXION WORLD BRONZE OF BUCKMINSTER FULLER'S AIR OCEAN MAP: 3d Bronze Plaque, 15 1/2'' x 23 1/2'', This was created in 1970 by promising grad student Peter Logan, signed and dated lower right. It was his first project in the lost wax bronze casting process, and was done in homage to Fuller. Logan had been to MIT to listen to Fuller speak several times. Logan studied at Ohio University under Professor Dave Klahn. A very heavy casting, this bronze weighs over 50lbs. | 250 |
