Applied floral garland with medallion either side featuring cherubs on putti. Gilt metal foot on stepped marble base. Overall measures 28 1/4'' h. x 11 1/2''. Sold with a metal clad tapered stand with lion masqueron accents, paw feet, overall 33 3/4'' h. x 10 3/4'' x10 3/4''. CONDITION: Urn with uneven patina, slight lean, one medallion lifting at bottom. FORETAY, Alfred, (Swiss, 1861-1944): ''Bab Boujloud'', Fez, Morocco, Oil/Canvas, 13'' x 18'', signed lower right, framed 19.5'' x 24'', Christie's label affixed verso from prior sale. Foretay began his artistic career sculpting, figurines, busts and animals in bronze and pewter. In 1920 he began to paint more and continued in this medium.
