COCHITI PUEBLO OPERA SINGER POTTERY: Cochiti Pueblo potters created pottery figurines as early as 1880 to satisfy a demand for Indian items to sell to the influx of tourists in the Southwest. This male Opera singer with a Western look may have been made in what was then a typical jest of groups of people who did not exist in their culture. Measures 13.75'' h.
