LEVINE, Jack, (American, 1915-): 2 Volume Set of Soft Ground Etchings, inspired by Bertolt Blecht and GW Pabst ''Dreigroschen Film'' of 1930. Deluxe portfolios each with 25 etchings and an additional suite pulled in an alternate tint, plus two etchings ''Tiger Brown on Crusade'' and Tiger Brown on Coronation Day''. One portfolio contains one of the original copper plates etched for this work. One portfolio numbered XIX, the other numbered XXXIX. Portfolio size approx. 18 1/2'' x 15'', etching size with margins approx. 17 1/2'' x 14''. All in all you have approx. 100 etchings plus an original copper plate (plate does have some pitting with rust), some wear to leather binder on both portfolios. Sold as a lot. | 1500 |
