1001 Click for larger picture RARE CONFEDERATE VETERANS TRIBUTE WEDGWOOD PITCHER: One of only 60 pitchers commissioned by Charleston, South Carolina Mayor and soldier William Ashmead Courtenay. These pitchers commemorated the Washington Light Infantry, a unit that was first organized in 1807 and fought valiantly in the Civil War. Sides decorated with Confederate flag, mottos, infantry information and more. Marked on base with Wedgwood underglaze mark, old newspaper clipping affixed to base. Measures 8 1/4'' h. x 8 1/2''. 500

CONDITION: Flaking to one image, damage to case.
