1204 Click for larger picture FOLK ART CARVED WOOD FISH MODEL: Carved model of a fish with traces remaining gilt decoration, mounted on steel rod base. Fish measures 10 1/4'' h. x 31 3/4'' x 5 1/2''. Stand 27'' h. x 10'' x 5''.
CONDITION: Loss of gilt, chips to fins, one fin loose.

CONDITION: Several spots of foxing, minor overall toning, frame shows minor wear, not examined out of the frame, sold as is.

CONDITION: Several visible defects or lines in the lower margin, do not appear to be tears, affixed to adhesive paper, several minor handling creases, sold as is.

1242 Click for larger picture DAVENPORT, William Slocum, (New York/France, 1868 - 1938): Landscape with Trees at the Water's Edge and City in the Distance, Oil/Canvas, 31.75'' x 25.5'', signed lower left, painted wood frame, 39'' x 32''. Davenport graduated from dental school in 1890, and shortly after went to Paris to practice. It was there he met James Mcneil Whistler, who befriended him and encouraged his artistic career. Information from Lucille Barnes, relative of the artist.
CONDITION: Frame is worn and over painted, painting has several flecks of loss and some minor abrasions, some craquelure, needs cleaning, sold as is.
