SVENDSEN, Svend (Norway, 1864-1945): Haystacks Along a Snow Covered Road, Oil/Canvas, 25'' x 32'', signed lower right, framed 30'' x 37''. Svendsen moved to Chicago in 1881 to begin work as a lithograph artist, where he became known as one of Chicago's most important landscape painters. Eventually he moved to Paris and studied at the Academie Delecluse, one year after his exhibition debut in 1895. Svendsen was known for his intimate, and at times, even romantic landscapes.
