TAYLOR, Robert, (British 1946-) ''Eagle Squadron Scramble'' Print: There were 480 American men that volunteered to fly with the British against the Germans, before the US got involved in WII, they formed three squadrons, the 71st RAF fighter squadron, The 121st RAF fighter Squadron, and the 133rd RAF fighter squadron which were known as Eagle Squadrons. TAYLOR, Robert, (British 1946-) JV 44 Print 53/1000: A rare sold out lithograph depicting a trio of Messerschmitt Me-262 jet fighters of JV-44 soaring past clouds in the dusk above Germany's Ruhr Valley. The German Squadron that flew the Me-262 were known as ''The Squadron of Experts.'' Only the most experienced and highly decorated pilots flew this jet which was the first jet ever used in a war. To reach the German target, it had to fly through a barrage of flak and enemy fighters. The elevators, stabilizers, and ailerons are damaged, and she is hard to handle and losing altitude. But her crew is determined to make it to safety. The print is authenticated with the original signatures of Col. William Lawley, Col. John Morgan, Lt. Col. Edward Michael. Lt. Col. Jay Zeamer and T/Sgt. Forrest Vosler, all five men awarded the Medal of Honor for great courage when flying the B-17 Flying Fortress. Also signed by artist Robert Taylor. 234/100.
