1890'S HANDCRAFTED SHIPS MODEL OF SCHOONER IVANHOE: Handcrafted by the first mate Ziba William, signed and dated 1890 under removable wheelhouse. The Ivanhoe was built in 1865 in Maine, eventually sold and moved to San Francisco. The ship went down on Sept. 30th, 1894. Comes with display case also built by Williams. ANTIQUE CAUCASIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG 4' x 6'5'': Dramatic design and strong colors. Five medallions, two at each end and one in the center of the orange/red and dark blue field. A variant of the Perepedil motif make up the central field's design. Two small animals located on the blue area of the field. The main border has a serrated leaf and wine glass pattern. There is a synthetic dye that dates this rug to the early 20th century. CONDITION: Good with some fading. |
