LARGE BAKONGO NKONDI NAIL FETISH FIGURE: This imposing fetish is 53'' h x 11'' w x 13'' d. He is wearing a hat, carrying a spear in his raised hand, has been ''provoked'' with a maze of nails, is embellished with various kinds of metal and textiles and has glass eyes. This particular fetish is used by individuals, families, or a community to protect them from a number of evils and illnesses and to solemnize oaths and agreements. A holy person would activate it through the use of invocations and provocations so that it would gain power. CONDITION: Normal wear with crack to base around his left foot. Very good condition.
