CALOVIUS, Abraham, (1612-1686): First volume of the 3 volume set of the ''Calov'' bible printed in 1681 in Wittenberg. German text Bible with additional commentary by Martin Luther. Appears to be complete, in embossed calf skin cover. This bible was made famous in 1934 when a 3 volume set that was once owned by Johann Sebastian Bach was discovered with his signature. Begins with Genesis and ends with Psalms of Solomon. CONDITION: Toning, edge wear to covers, and some writings in margins observed. |
