1402 Click for larger picture RARE ADMIRALTY ISLANDS NEW GUINEA CARVED WOOD SERVING BOWL: The ovoid deep cavetto vessel is finely carved in the round with an opposing handle at each end carved in the form of the ornate headdress, head and long neck of a warrior, the rim of each of the two sides is carved in the round with a figure of a crocodile, each facing towards the same end, raised on four short cylindrical feet, 16 1/4'' x 7 3/8''.
CONDITION: One crocodile will need restoration.

CONDITION: With much of the original pigment remaining and with overall abrasions, otherwise in good condition.
