1124 | ANTIQUE PERSIAN KURD AFSHAR HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 3'6'' x 4'8'': This handsome tribal rug has a design traditionally found on rugs that are woven in the mountainous region where the Afshar and other tribes live. The field has two large white ground diamond shaped medallions placed on a tomato red field. Covering the field are various small geometric designs that are done in colors of blue, green, brown, peach, and tomato red. The white ground of the main border frames the field. CONDITION: This rug is worn but still attractive. There are three small slits that have been repaired and there is a place on one end where there is a flatweave repair to a border. |
