PRESENTATION MODEL 1850 STAFF & FIELD OFFICERS SWORD: Fancy grade model 1850, engraved brass pommel, pierced floral guard with US, original rayskin grip with twist wire. Nicely etched 32'' blade with foliate, figures, shield and eagle, US decoration. Blade stamped Collins & Co. Hartford, Conn., 1862. Scabbard with presentation on top mount that reads '' Presented by members of Co. A. Emmett Legion to their Col. Michael Graham as a testimonial to their respect for him as a soldier and a citizen on Oct. 28th, 1873''. Scabbard with brass mounts, some of nickel finish remains on shaft. Overall measures 39 1/4'' long. CONDITION: Minor pitting very tip of blade, other common signs of age. |
