1006 | APPROX 30-45 YR. OLD PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL AND SILK RUG, 3'6'' x 5'8'': This very finely knotted rug has silk highlights like Nain or Qum quality rugs. The large red oval central ground of this rug has a much smaller blue, beige, and white snowflake shaped medallion in the center. The red ground is full of traditional motifs like palmettes, vases, flower heads, vines, and leaves in colors shades of blue, beige, red, white, and green. The ends of the main field have stylized palmettes of alternating colors that touch into the field but rest mainly on the white and blue corners. The blue and white borders blend in with the corners of the field and the last solid red band of color frames the rest. Condition is good. | 950 | |
