1006 | FRENCH MARBLE AND GILT ORMOLU FIREPLACE MANTLE: This exquisite marble fireplace mantle is made from 4 sections of carved richly grained amethyst marble. Applied ornate gilt bronze ormolu decoration to include foliate scroll center crest, full figural busts of men, foliate and shield decorations at either corner. Cast iron back plate, and front surround. Original paperwork from the consignor, this mantle was purchased in Italy in 1972, dating the fireplace to 1840 and removed from and old castle in France. Overall measures approx. 45 1/4'' h. x 69 1/2'' x 18 1/2'', inside surround measures 26 1/4'' x 27 1/4''. Sold with a wood mounting sub structure to help with wall mounting, 42 1/4'' h. x 58'' x 7 1/4'', and a set of electric fire logs. CONDITION: Several chips near back.
