CONDITION: Turquoise ground wisteria vase with cracks on back. Small turquoise vase has two small dark spots inline on shoulders. Crane vase has cracks.

1156A Click for larger picture APPROX. 30-50 YR OLD PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED ''SYNTHETIC SILK'' COTTON RUG, 4'7'' x 7': This lovely pictorial rug features a large central tree of life whose branches, leaves, and flowers (of many types) cover most of the ivory field. Two smaller trees flank the central one at one end. At the base of the trees are various animals, birds, and rocks in and by a stream. Other birds are found tucked into the foliage here and there over the field. The dark blue border has deer, birds, and other animals placed between various plants /trees.
CONDITION: Some faint stains are visible but otherwise good condition.

After 2 years at the University of Toronto, Burke moved to New York City to begin drawing caricatures for the Village Voice. He has gained quite a bit of notoriety from his work being published in such publications as Rolling Stone, Newsweek, GQ, New York Times and Time Magazine. Recently, in 2013, Burke received the honor of being recognized by the Living Legacy Project at the Burchfield Penny Art Center. 600

1197A Click for larger picture SEMI-ANTIQUE CHINESE HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 2'6'' X 4'10'': This blue on blue Chinese has an open field with only three small motifs of two flower sprays and a butterfly. These motifs are done in ivory, pale yellow, and pale blue, the same colors used in the floral motifs found in the main dark blue border.
CONDITION: Some visible wear but good for its age.

Grosz was known for his ''caricatural drawings and paintings of Berlin life in the 1920s. He was a prominent member of the Berlin Dada and New Objectivity group during the Weimar Republic. He emigrated to the United States in 1933, and became a naturalized citizen in 1938. Abandoning the style and subject matter of his earlier work, he exhibited regularly and taught for many years at the Art Students League of New York.'' - Wikipedia. Lever was born and raised in Australia and studied in Europe, but eventually settled on the East Coast of America. He was influenced by the Impressionists, notably Van Gogh. In fact, he did a series of paintings, ''Van Gogh's Hospital, Holland'', to express the influence he felt from Van Gogh. Provenance: Estate Collection of Christian Buchheit.
