This brooch is design no 283 and is 2.25'' in diameter. It has the correct marks - Georg Jensen, 925S Denmark 283. He worked at the Georg Jensen Silver smiths from 1936-1944 and from 1949-65 and was inspired by Japanese art for many of his designs. 475

Inscription reads, ''COL G. GREGORY BERZINEC O.S.S. FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICE BY F.D.R. 1942''. Wrist watch is a Chalet men's 14k yellow gold square face with 14k gold band. Approx. 56.9 grams inclusive of movement, 7'' long.
CONDITION: There is a kink to the band, spotting to dial, obvious signs of wear. Currently running however not guaranteed to continue or keep accurate time.

Lattice work crest with central pagoda form, figural Chinese maiden with antique ivory head, hands and feet, over dentil molding. 2 fretwork glass doors, interior shelves. Drop front secretary base, opens to carved figural Chinese man on door, pierced lattice valences over pigeon holes and drawers. 2 drawers over 3 graduating full length drawers. Carved and shaped skirt and feet. Overall measures approx. 102'' h. x 43 1/4'' x 23 1/4''.
CONDITION: Crack to slant front, missing interior trim, crest in need of repair. Other wear consistent with age and use. Ivory in this piece falls under the 200 gram rule and is over 100 years old, original to the piece. Please be aware of local laws when purchasing.

1015 Click for larger picture APPROX 30-40 YR OLD INDO-PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 6'1'' X 9'1'': This pretty rug has a black field covered by large leaves, palmettes, flower heads, and smaller leaves and flowers all linked by sinuous vines. The good color composition is used in a way that accentuates the design with a jewel like look. The red ground main border and the light colored guard borders frame the elegant field. Also comes with purchase receipt from Rug Gallery.
CONDITION: This rug is in good condition.

1026 Click for larger picture APPROX. 10-15 YR. OLD CHINESE PERSIAN DESIGN HAND KNOTTED FAUX SILK RUG, 5' x 8'4'': This Sino-Persian rug is woven with a Qum design. The overall soft pastel colors used combined with the delicacy of the motifs renderings makes this an appealing, luscious rug. The central medallion combines pale peach, pink, pistachio green, and grey-blue and rests on a pale yellow field. The delicate vines and tendrils that link the other patterns are done in a pale grey-blue. They also help to delineate the added panels of pink, turquoise, and white that edge the main field. The main border has the same colors found in the central medallion.
CONDITION: Condition is good. There is some abrash or color change in the pale yellow field that isn't objectionable. Recently cleaned by Tinney Rug Cleaners.

1033 Click for larger picture PAIR KINDEL FURNITURE WINTERTHUR COLLECTION QUEEN ANNE ARMCHAIRS: A fine pair of Kindel Mahogany Winterthur Collection Queen Anne Armchairs having the very same hand-carved elements (shells, volutes, acanthus leaves, and ball and claw feet) and crafted from the same materials as the originals that were made around 1760 in Philadelphia. They are considered by many scholars and collectors to be one of the finest examples of the Queen Anne style in Philadelphia. One of the originals sold at Christie's in 2002 for $666,000, a world record for a single wooden side chair. 42 1/2'' h. x 26'' w. x 22'' d., 20'' Seat height, 29 1/4'' arm height.
CONDITION: Wear to fabric, especially at front from use on both. One with noticeable stains.

Sprays of flowers mirror imaged on each side fill in the rest of the field. A white ground main border with a leaf and flower design completes the well drawn design of this rug.
CONDITION: This rug is in good condition.

1044 Click for larger picture APPROX 20-35 YR OLD PERSIAN PICTORIAL DESIGN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 3'7'' X 5'7'': This interesting rug has a depiction of an actual mosque with minarets and a dome, perhaps the ''Blue Mosque of Samarkand'' but I'm not sure. The detailed picture is very well ''drawn'' on this finely knotted rug. There are also other mosques and religious sites pictured in panels in the border of the rug. There also is a signature or partial date cartouche at one end of the rug.
CONDITION: This rug is in good condition.
