1200A Click for larger picture APPROX 20-35 YR OLD PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 9'9'' X 13'3'': This rug has a beautiful classical design with lots of detail and good color composition as well. A large lobed medallion has a dark blue center surrounded by white and the red outlined in white to separate the medallion from the deep blue of the field. The corners of the field are the same red as the medallion. They and the rest of the field are covered with a profusion of individual flowers and palmettes surrounded by sprays of flowers. The white guard borders and the blue main border blend with the field to create a really lovely rug.
CONDITION: Condition is good except the side selvedge needs some attention (pulling away from side)

1203 Click for larger picture IRON SLAVE PUNISHMENT COLLAR: Reputedly dug at a plantation site in Georgia, these collars would have been used as a punishment for assorted transgressions. Spring type collar with rings, overall measures 4 3/4'' x 5 5/8''.

1214A Click for larger picture APPROX 20-40 YR OLD INDO-PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUNNER, 2'7'' X 15'10'': This long, now pastel runner has a pale peach field with pale blue, white, green, and brown colors used in repeating alternating designs that go down the field. There are also some dark blue accents in the motifs. White and peach borders complete this runner.
CONDITION: The whole rug is faded, maybe by a chemical wash. There is irregularity in the fade also.

1221A Click for larger picture APPROX 25-45 YR OLD INDO-PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 9'5'' X 12'10'': This rug has a pale blue and white then dark blue diamond shaped medallion within a medallion resting on a red field. The corners of the field tie in with the central medallion in coloration. The balance of the field is covered with a profusion of flowers and leaves all linked or nearly touching the next motif. Orange/red with blue, pink, green, red, white, and blue guard borders and a blue ground main border complete the design.
CONDITION: There is some visible wear, some moth damage, tension wear on edge, and some color fade.

Oil/Canvas, approx. 45'' x 33 1/2'', framed 49 1/2'' x 37''.
CONDITION: Minor craquelure, could use a proper cleaning.

1224A Click for larger picture APPROX.70-90 YR OLD NATIVE AMERICAN NAVAJO HAND WOVEN WOOL RUG/ BLANKET, 4'1'' X 6'7'': This nice old Navajo has a design that consists of a gridwork of diamonds with serrated edges on a natural color ivory field. The outline of the diamonds is done in brown, tan, and red. Cross motifs both large and small are found in the centers of the diamonds. There are brown and red borders at each end but not on the sides. Two shades of red were used in making this rug and there is also some fading that accounts for the varying shades.
CONDITION: Some fading, some soil/spots, and some breaks on the edge and one place in the field but still a good looking rug.

1231A Click for larger picture SEMI-ANTIQUE PERSIAN AFSHAR HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 4' X 5'6'': This all wool rug has a tribal look with animals in the deep blue field with salmon/red corners and ends. On the middle sides are two tone columns around a long white central medallion. Spandrels extend from either end and hexagons from each side. Rams or goats and botehs are included in the fields designs. The main border has a small archaic tree of life design repeating on a field that changes color repeatedly.
CONDITION: The ends are partially gone and there is lots of abrash or color change

1234A Click for larger picture APPROX 20-40 YR OLD PERSIAN SHAH STEVAN SOUMAK HAND WOVEN WOOL RUG, 3'8'' X 6'6'': This embroidered flat weave rug has the striking design of an Eagle Kazak Caucasian rug although it was crested south of the Caucasus region. Three eagle medallions in red, and black rest on a white field. The field is also home to a profusion of animals and birds which add to the charm of this rug. Backward ''S's'' and X's are found in the borders of the rug.
CONDITION: This rug is in good condition.

1235A Click for larger picture APPROX 20-40 YR OLD PERSIAN SHAH SEVAN SOUMAK HAND WOVEN WOOL RUNNER, 3'8'' X 9'6'': This lively flat weave runner has three linked multiple diamonds within diamonds shaped medallions that run down the center of the white field. Lots of birds, camels, and other animals are scattered across the field. The borders are in reds, yellow, beige, black, green, and white, like the colors of the field. Their decoration and design are like the motifs in a regular kilim.
CONDITION: this rug is in good condition.

The pale salmon colored field has pale yellow/green and ivory corners and guard borders. The medallion and field have an intricate overall placement of leaves, flowers, and palmettes in the same colors already mentioned in addition to pale blue, rust, burgundy, and black.
CONDITION: This rug is in good condition with some shading.
