ANTIQUE KURDISH/N.W. PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 4'2'' X 6'7'': This rug has a strong tribal appeal with its archaic motifs and good colors. The variegated blue field has a repeating alternating pattern of red/orange and white botehs or paisleys and a motif that includes a combination of flowers and small botehs in pale blue, white and red/orange . The borders are all done in patterns of traditional designs found in older rugs using the same colors as the field. CONDITION: There is an old repair in the field on one side. |

APPROX 20-45 YR OLD TURKISH HEREKE HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG, 4' X 6': This lovely Hereke rug has the Seven Mountain Flower design that was originally made only for royalty and is inscribed Hereke in one corner of the rug. The deep blue field is covered with a profusion of many types, colors, and sizes of flowers laid out in the complex traditional pattern. The various flowers and leaves are in colors that include pink, red, shades of blue, white and pale green and are linked by vines. The light blue guard borders around the red ground main border are also filled with a variety of flowers. CONDITION: Good |

On the middle sides are two tone columns around a long white central medallion. Spandrels extend from either end and hexagons from each side. Rams or goats and botehs are included in the fields designs. The main border has a small archaic tree of life design repeating on a field that changes color repeatedly.
