Crawford, board chairman, hired him with a handshake to paint the winning plane each year in the famous Thompson Trophy Race. In 1939, Mr. Hubbell's first six pictures were used for a calendar and a similar calendar has been offered annually since. Here at Auction is a fine representation of his work.
