361   PALATIAL CHARCOAL RENDERING BY BRESSAN AFTER IGNACE SPIRIDON'S ''SAPPHO'': Depicts a young Parisian debutante descending the steps after a masquerade ball. 60'' X 40'', signed lower right and dated 1880. Encased in a later gilded frame, 70'' x 51'' in reasonably good condition. Condition - Several spots of water damage, most notably along the upper margin, there are some tears in the paper in the upper left quadrant and some spotted drips throughout. 1500

First piece is a coastal scene with waves crashing on the rocks, W/C and Gouache, 8 1/2'' x 14 3/8'', sight size, signed lower right, encased in what appears to be original frame, 15'' x 20''. Second piece is a still life of fruit, cheese, decanters, glass and butter knife, O/C, 8'' x 10''. The last piece is a carved and painted chick-a-dee mounted to a plaque, 7 1/2'', some wear to the chick-a-dee, signed verso Maurice Day ''The Whittle Shop, Damariscotta, Maine''. Maurice Day was a noted American illustrator and worked for Disney. Condition - The tree trunk that the chick-a-dee is affixed to appears to have several cracks and a missing chunk of wood. 160

Condition - Craquelure throughout with several minor chips of paint loss, needs cleaning and re-stretching. Cuneo was an educator and painter at the University of Marilyn and exhibited widely in the greater New Jersey area. 150
